    1997 that first stone was laid

    An ingenious idea becomes official: 

    McAirlaid’s is founded at its headquarters in Steinfurt.

    The first airlaid machine in Germany is launched. 

    The factory Heilbad Heiligenstadt starts production. 

    Taking part at the INDEX for the first time, 

    the world’s biggest non-woven fabric trade show in Geneva (Switzerland). 
    And immediately an award: 1st Prize for the most innovative product; an adhesive and bonding agent free non-woven. Awarded by EDANA, “the voice of non-wovens“, the international association of the non-woven industries. 

    Opening of the second production site 

    in Berlingerode, Thuringia.

    Start of the 2nd Airlaid machine  

    in Berlingerode, Thuringia.

    Opening of the 3rd factory, this time in the USA

    McAirlaid‘s Inc. Rocky Mount, Franklin County, Virginia.

    Founding of the sister company curea medical GmbH

    specialising in wound dressings for the medical sector. 

    The 3rd airlaid machine starts production in the USA. 

    Opening of a new site in Estonia: 

    Founding of McAirlaid‘s Nordic OÜ in Tallinn (Closure 2019).

    The 4th airlaid machine starts production 

    in Berlingerode

    New marketing organisation for cigarette filters, Genia. 

    Opening of the 5th production site in Selm 

    (processing plant).

    The 5th airlaid machine starts production 

    in Berlingerode

    Production start of the 1st face mask maschine
