Quality Assurance Manager

Position summary:

The Quality Assurance Manager will oversee all aspects of the quality management system (QMS) to ensure compliance with food safety regulations, customer specifications, and industry standards (such as ISO and BRC). This role will lead the QA/QC team, manage audits, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to maintain product integrity and operational efficiency.

Responsibility / Duties:

  • Lead and manage the Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams to ensure all processes meet established quality standards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and Food Safety Management System (FSMS).
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, BRC, PEFC, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate internal and external audits, including supplier and customer audits.
  • Oversee product testing, raw material inspections, and in-process quality checks to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for nonconformities.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Production, and Maintenance teams to support new product development and process improvements.
  • Monitor key quality metrics (defect rates, customer complaints, rework, etc.) and report findings to management.
  • Train and develop staff in quality procedures, food safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the primary contact for quality-related communication with customers and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of quality management experience in food packaging, food manufacturing, or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of BRC and ISO standards.
  • Experience with absorption pad production, nonwoven materials, or similar packaging technologies preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage audits, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software (e.g., Q-Pulse, EtQ, or similar).
  • Certification in HACCP, PCQI, or Six Sigma a plus.

Schedule requirements / working conditions:

  • Full-time, on-site position located at our Rocky Mount, VA facility.
  • Primarily office-based with frequent interaction on the production floor.
  • Occasional travel for supplier or customer visits and training sessions.

Sales Manager

We are looking for you


Position summary:

  • This position is responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned market.
  • Sales Manager works towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values.
  • Establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the marketing areas along with growing additional sales within the existing customer base.
  • This responsibility includes maintaining relationships with both external and internal customers.
  • This position will work closely with customer service, other sales team members, corporate functions and the manufacturing facility.

Responsibility / Duties:

  • Develops a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability
  • Maintain and increase the sales volume of assigned accounts in accordance with stated company plan.
  • Prepares action plans for effective search of sales leads and prospects.
  • Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets
  • Provides timely, accurate, and competitive pricing insight on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin
  • Negotiate and maintain customer supply agreements.
  • Obtain timely and accurate customer forecasts and product mix changes and communicate promptly to production/inventory planning.
  • Establish a sound knowledge of the customer and competitive landscape within the market.
  • Manage customer complaints in accordance with company policy and to advise management promptly of any situations beyond his scope of authority including invoicing errors, credit disputes, shipping problems and defective products/returns.
  • Develop and maintain strong vertical and horizontal relationships with all customers and prospects.
  • Prepare proposals and presentations, conduct training seminars
  • Assist in developing sales forecasts, budgets, marketing plans and participation in trade events
  • Manage expenses to meet company guidelines
  • Develop new strategies and techniques to promote / sell McAirlaid’s products that drive sales and profitability growth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree is required or significant sales experience.
  • Work Experience: Must have 5+ years of sales experience.
  • Language/Communication Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to make presentations and develop sales programs in order to meet company sales goals. Professional and confidential demeanor when dealing with customers, both internal and external.  Multilingual a Plus.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft office products; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, LinkedIn
  • Organization Skills: Ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks.  Ability to work individually or as part of a team environment.  Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.  A high degree of organization and efficient time management is expected.
  • Travel Requirements: Ability to travel as required and expected to be approximately fifty (50%) percent of the time.
  • Other : Understanding and knowledge of production and financial processes and procedures; Ability to influence without authority; Self-motivated; Deadline & results oriented; Able to work under pressure; Strong negotiations and time management skills; Attention to detail.  Needs to be able to understand market trends and customer need.

Physical requirements:

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours, must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices, use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.

Other:

  • Knowledge of our product lines and business preferred.   

Schedule requirements / working conditions:

  • Monday – Friday but night and weekend escalations when necessary to service our customers.  Work Environment:  Home office will travel to manufacturing facility and customers.

Product / Project Manager

We are looking for you for our location in Rocky Mount, VA.


Position summary:

  • The person in this position will manage a portfolio of products, work closely with the Sales, R&D and Manufacturing teams to coordinate new product business development projects that enhance existing products and develop new applications and solutions in the portfolio.
  • The role will be responsible for taking products from concept to market.

Responsibility / Duties:

  • Determine customer needs through interaction with sales team, market research and strategic VOC meetings.
  • Evaluate customer / consumer's needs and expectations to design and introduce new products.  Work with suppliers to explore new/alternative material options to bring new products to market for our customers.
  • Collaborate with leadership, sales and finance to create annual financial goals and budgets including revenue, gross margin, COGS, price, and portfolio mix aligned to strategic priorities.
  • Responsible for ongoing SKU rationalization and opportunities to consolidate ‘like’ products insuring the customer needs, volume and production requirements are met.
  • Provide analysis and input in developing and implementing pricing strategy and decisions.
  • Assess market competition by comparing McAirlaid’s products to competitors’ products.
  • Assist and potentially lead cross-functional efforts to discover and execute cost reduction initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers, customers and company staff.
  • Increase the company's awareness and recognition by providing high quality technical products and services and promoting excellent customer service.
  • Design and develop new strategies and techniques to promote / sell McAirlaid’s products.
  • Collaborate with Corporate marketing on brand strategy, brand standards, channel marketing messaging.
  • Responsible for maintaining the database detailing product specification and quality control parameters.
  • Provide technical / marketing materials for web databases.
  • Drive ongoing improvements in sales and profitability.
  • Ability to blend creative problem solving with data- driven, analytical, financial and quantitative skills, with a demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems with data assumptions, and judgement using best practices and analysis to formulate solutions.
  • Participate in commercial RFP requests for assigned product line.
  • All other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical or marketing discipline.
  • Work Experience: Work experience in sales, marketing or promotions is also preferred.
  • Language Ability: Excellent written and oral communication skills including presentations.  Strong customer and customer service skills.
  • Computer Skills:  Computer proficiency across Office suite and ERP systems.
  • Organization Skills: Ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks.  Ability to work individually or as part of a team environment.  Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.  A high degree of organization and efficient time management is expected.
  • Travel Requirements: Ability to travel as required up to thirty (30%) percent of the time, local and / or domestic.
