38 new jobs by the end of 2018
The new company McAirlaid's will start test operations on the shaft road next week. Since the topping-out ceremony in mid-August, a lot has happened in and around McAirlaid's plant on Schachtstraße in Selm. In the meantime, both the production hall and the outer facade have been completed. Roller shutters now close the entrances to the new hall of the company, which produces nonwovens for food packaging, among other things. In the meantime, several machines have been transported from the Berlingerode plant to Selm and have already been assembled. One of the large machines is to be put into test operation next week. By the end of the year, 18 more machines will be moved from McAirlaid's Berlingerode plant to Selm. "The more machines we build, the more employees we will need. By the end of the year, more than 38 colleagues will be working in production and administration," says Peter Lehnhoff, plant manager at Selm: "The official start of production will be on 1 November. The office and social rooms are to be completed by the end of November. Until then, all employees will be accommodated in office containers.
