REDYSIGN: McAirlaid's as a development partner for sustainable meat packaging
The path to innovative sustainability is not being taken alone.
It required the creation of a network of committed and knowledgeable companies who want to research and develop sustainable packaging for fresh meat over the next few years in the REDYSIGN project. Our consortium is a robust network of 13 partners from 7 European countries - each with their own special expertise.
From Tecnalia's research strength to Eroski's commercial insights, Metgen's biotechnological know-how to Valmet's technological innovations - not forgetting McAirlaid's long-standing expertise in the production of biological MeatPads to absorb escaping meat juices and reduce bacterial growth.
Together, these companies form the foundation to develop a meat packaging made from over 98% wood and make 12 innovative, resource-efficient processes, 2 food quality sensors and improved paper recycling processes a reality.
Over the next 4 years, we will report on the status of research and development to show how this EU-funded project is progressing.
Stay tuned.
