The new quality for the grill starts with McAirlaid`s Grillpad. It beds fish and meat on a multifunctional pad. Liquids accumulating during storage and grilling are absorbed at once. Therefore, the barbecue product has the best chance to entice the buyer and then to be cooked in a crispy and healthy way, as the GrillPad ensures the appetising appearance of the product during transport and when presented at the counter.
GrillPad prevents fish and meat from swimming in the escaping cooking juice, as it absorbs unwanted liquid immediately. Depending on the pad, 20 to 100 millilitres can be absorbed. Thanks to its fireproof surface, it is heat resistant up to 300° C.
Amongst other, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) can develop during the grilling process. They appear when fats, barbecue juice and oil marinades drip into the open fire. This is not healthy. And often the dripping of barbecue products sparks off a tongue of flame, which affects the quality of the food to be grilled. On top of the GrillPad, set into an aluminium tray, the barbecue meat is protected when cooked – safer and tastier – without burnt black bits.
Some time passes until fish and meat makes it to the consumer’s barbecue. During that time the GrillPad absorbs the escaping liquids. This is how it always ensures an appetisingly fresh presentation and – invisibly – a reduction of bacterial growth. The GrillPad can also be manufactured as a CO2-Pad.
With GrillPad, meat and fish stay crispy when barbecued. Superfluous fats, oil and other hot liquids are absorbed so that culinary enjoyment is not affected.
